The founder

I fell so far behind at school that just finishing counted as success. In 2024 I found out why.

Inner Help is the service I wish had existed at fifteen, at twenty-five, at forty. This is why I built it.

ADHD runs deep in the family
Not a clinician: a founder with ADHD

Growing up, I always felt different. Hard to fit in. Always on edge. Never enough.

I could not concentrate. My mind was always somewhere else in the room. I fell so far behind at school that I gave up on doing well and aimed for the only goal that felt possible: finish, and don't get expelled. That counted as success.

I was always chasing the next hit of dopamine, even when it meant doing the wrong thing. Bored to the point of pain. Certain I was missing something. Frustrated with everyone around me, finishing their sentences, speaking for them, interrupting, overcompensating. Relationships suffered.

Then business. Hyperfocus like nothing else. Twenty-four hours straight, no sleep, more often than anyone should, so locked on a goal that nothing else existed. It built companies. It also cost me. I isolated. I took on too much at once. I burnt out. Then I did it again. Crashing highs and lows. Spiralling. Therapy helped me stand up again. Holding it together with both hands and refusing to be labelled.

I never gave up. In 2024 I finally got assessed and diagnosed with ADHD. It runs deep in my family, and once I could see it in myself I could see it in the people I love.

The diagnosis, and the right support behind it, changed my life. Not because it fixed me. Because for the first time the story made sense, and I could work with my brain instead of against it.

Then I looked at what it takes to get that answer in Australia. Months of waiting. Thousands of dollars. A different rule in every state. People giving up before they start, the way I gave up at school.

So I built Inner Help: the service I wish had existed at fifteen, at twenty-five, at forty. A free two-minute self-test. A match to someone who understands how this actually feels. Telehealth, so your postcode does not decide your care. And an assessment pathway, opening in 2026, built by people who know what it is to wait.

I am not a clinician. I am a founder with ADHD who knows how to build things, surrounded by people who are. Nobody on our roster pays to be listed. Nobody is ranked. And nobody who comes to us is told they are behind.

Days, not months. It is what I needed. It is what I want for you.

What that shaped

Three rules came out of it.

1

Say the price before anyone books. Every fee is published up front. No surprise invoices, no hidden gap.

2

Use tools that are validated, not impressive. Published screeners, a structured assessment standard, and a clinical lead who signs off on every clinical page.

3

Put people who understand neurodivergent adults at every step. From the first self-test to the practitioner you are matched with, so nobody has to explain themselves twice.

Start where I could not: with a two-minute self-test and someone who gets it.
